Kindness and Truth

Something that triggered by a conversation I had with my youngest daughter about being kind and truthful to others. Don’t you find that it’s hard to be helpful to people who are rude? Let’s use the example of couples, dating and also married ones. When couples are dating and newlywed, they speak so kindly with each other, but over time the tone changes. Need not to be so; someone has to be a peacemaker. As we read in the new testament of the Holy Bible the book of Galatians chapter 10, it reminds us to be mindful of others and to compliment somebody with sincerity! Therefore, Husbands commend your wives at least three times a day, and wives likewise show respect and honour to your husband,

I am diplomatic, so yes, I am truthful and honest on every occasion, at least aspire to it. In my experience when you are correct, you are kind, and you can love wholly by living with the absence of judgment. I do believe that we should love others where they are, like ‘love the unloving,’ and ‘choose to think the best of others even though they hurt you.’ Now I know, many don’t feel the same way, but I promise you that it will make you feel better by practising and applying this to your life.

By an act of kindness like doing others a favour, pick up litter on the beach, by being a blessing and allow someone goes in front of you in line, showering them with love or gifts. Helping out where you are, leave some money on the vending machine, volunteer at an NGO in your community, bake cookies for the elderly, serve at a homeless shelter, compliment a stranger and there is so much more to add to the list right?

In my teens, I won a beauty pageant, and one of our neighbours asked me whether my cheeks weren’t hurting, I asked them why they would ask such a strange question? She answered that she could understand why I deserved to be the winner because of my kind personality and smile. She said that after the school bus dropped me off, I greeted and smiled at each person until I reached our gate at home and she says that she admired that about me. Now some people are like the keys to goodness, by this I mean that there are ones who are most kind to others. My wish is to see more people showing kindness to each other.

Don’t belittle an act of kindness, when you show compassion to someone it changes their level of joy, you are boosting their mood, change their perspective on life, and you increase their hope. It also causes a significant shift in their life, by just expressing one small act of kindness can save another person’s life. Research has also proven that the one who initiates the act of kindness causes the serotonin level to increase not just within themselves but also that of the recipient. The observer, the third party, even benefits and hope increases when Joy and Happiness shared, now everyone has happy hormones!

Jesus showed kindness and great compassion to all. When you go around today think about whom you can teach an act of kindness Smile, hold their heavy bag, open a door, give someone a seat on the bus or train. Pay for someone’s groceries at the check-out. We are the ones God has placed here as followers of Jesus Christ that in times of hardships and difficulties amongst the brethren, come to their rescue. You are the one who benefits too, and the recipient is overwhelmed, the onlooker always sees everything, and this changes their mood and the atmosphere, which causes a domino effect, change the minds of two, and many will be affected

Genesis 24:27 King James Version (KJV)

And he said, blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.

When you give you don’t lose!

Have an overcoming day and practice kindness and truth!
