When God Calls You Onto the Water

There are moments in life when God does not calm the storm first, He calls you to step out in the middle of it.

Peter saw Jesus walking on the water and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And Jesus answered with one word:

“Come.” Matthew 14:28–29

That one word required Peter to leave the safety of the boat, release what was familiar, and trust the One who was standing above what threatened him.

Many women are standing at the edge of their own boat right now. The boat may be control, fear, overthinking, disappointment, pain, or the need to understand everything before obeying God.

But faith does not always come with full explanation. Sometimes faith simply hears, “Come,” and moves.Jesus walking on water reminds us that what overwhelms us is still under His feet.

The waves may be loud, but they are not Lord.
The wind may be strong, but it is not sovereign.
The storm may be real, but so is the Saviour.

When Peter began to sink, Jesus immediately reached out His hand. That means even when our faith trembles, His grip remains steady.

So today, let go and let God lead.

Let go of fear.
Let go of doubt.
Let go of needing to control every outcome.
Let go of the pressure to hold everything together.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” Psalm 56:3

Declare this over your life:

God is in control when I feel like I am losing control.
God is leading me when I cannot see the full path.
God is holding me when the waters rise.
I will not sink, because His hand is upon me.
I will not fear, because His voice is calling me forward.I will not doubt, because the One who called me is faithful.

Woman of God, this is not the season to shrink back into the boat.

This is the season to rise, step out, and walk by faith.

The water will not drown you when Jesus has called you onto it.

I declare that every woman reading this will receive courage to step into the unknown with confidence. Fear will not govern your decisions. Doubt will not delay your obedience. The Lord is stabilising your heart, ordering your steps, and teaching you to walk above what once overwhelmed you. You are not losing control, you are surrendering to the One who has always been in control. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
