God Prepares Me → Courage

There are seasons when God prepares us quietly, long before anyone sees the evidence of what He is doing. We may feel hidden, delayed, or overlooked, but preparation is never wasted time in the hands of God.

Before David faced Goliath publicly, he fought lions and bears privately. Before Esther entered the king’s presence, she underwent a season of preparation. Before Moses confronted Pharaoh, God met him in the wilderness.

God often develops our courage in hidden places before calling us to stand in visible ones.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Courage Is Formed Before It Is Seen

Biblical courage does not mean that fear is absent. It means we trust God enough to obey Him while fear is still trying to speak.

God prepares us through circumstances that stretch our faith, test our character, and teach us to depend on Him. The challenge you are facing may feel uncomfortable, but it could be strengthening you for the assignment ahead.

The disappointment taught you resilience.

The waiting taught you patience.

The rejection taught you where your identity belongs.

The battle taught you how to pray.

The wilderness taught you to recognise God’s voice.

What felt like opposition may have become part of your preparation.

God Prepares the Person Before the Platform

We often ask God to open doors, but He is concerned about preparing us to remain faithful once those doors open. He develops our character before increasing our influence. He strengthens our foundations before adding greater responsibility.

David was anointed as king while he was still tending sheep. The anointing came before the appointment. Between the promise and the palace stood a long process of preparation.

You may know what God has spoken over your life, yet still feel far from its fulfilment. Do not abandon the process. God is shaping the courage you will need to carry what you have prayed for.

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14

Courage Begins With God’s Presence

When God called Moses, Moses immediately saw his limitations. He questioned his ability, his credibility, and even his speech. God did not respond by listing Moses’ strengths. Instead, He gave Moses one life-changing assurance:

“I will be with you.” Exodus 3:12

That is still the foundation of courage today.

You do not have to know every detail. You do not need to feel completely ready. You only need to know that the One who called you will go with you.

Courage grows when your awareness of God becomes greater than your awareness of the obstacle.

Courage Sometimes Looks Like a Small Yes

Not every courageous act happens on a stage. Sometimes courage means:

• Beginning again after disappointment.

• Speaking the truth with grace.

• Setting a necessary boundary.

• Forgiving while allowing God to heal your heart.

• Applying for the opportunity.

• Starting the business, ministry, course, or project.

• Asking for help instead of suffering silently.

• Obeying God when others do not understand.

Your next step may appear small, but small obedience can open significant doors.

Esther did not know how the king would respond when she approached him, but she chose to act for the sake of her people. Her courage was not rooted in certainty; it was rooted in surrender.

“And if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16

You Are Being Prepared for This Moment

Perhaps you have been wondering why the journey has been so difficult. Could it be that God has been building something within you that comfort alone could never produce?

He has been teaching your hands to build, your heart to trust, and your spirit to stand. The version of you who entered this season is not the same woman emerging from it.

You are wiser.

You are stronger.

You are more discerning.

You are more dependent on God.

You carry evidence of His faithfulness.

Do not allow fear to convince you that you are unprepared. You may not feel ready, but God has not wasted one moment of your journey.

The oil, the lessons, the tears, and the testimony all have a purpose.

Arise, woman of God. Take the next step. God has prepared you, and He will give you the courage to do what He has called you to do.

Short Prayer

Father, thank You for using every season of my life to prepare me for Your purpose. When fear tells me to hide, remind me that You are with me. Strengthen my heart, deepen my faith, and give me the courage to take my next step of obedience. Help me trust Your preparation, Your timing, and Your presence. I arise today with confidence, knowing that the God who called me will also equip me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
