God Calls Me → Purpose
God Calls Me → Purpose
There comes a moment when God calls you beyond simply existing and invites you to live intentionally. His call awakens something within you, a holy awareness that your life carries meaning, your gifts have value, and your story can be used for His glory.
Purpose is not merely about what you do. It begins with knowing whose you are.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” Jeremiah 1:5
Your Purpose Began With God
Your purpose did not begin when people noticed your gifts, applauded your achievements, or gave you a title. It began in the heart of God.
Before anyone celebrated, misunderstood, overlooked, or rejected you, God already knew you. He placed gifts, passions, abilities, and dreams within you for a reason.
You are not an accident searching for significance. You are God’s workmanship, created with intention.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
Purpose is not something you invent. It is something you discover as you walk closely with God.
The Call Often Comes Before the Confidence
When God called Moses, Moses focused on his weaknesses. Gideon considered himself the least in his family. Jeremiah thought he was too young. Yet God did not withdraw His call because they felt unqualified.
Perhaps you have also said:
“I am not ready.”
“I do not have enough experience.”
“Someone else could do it better.”
“My past has disqualified me.”
Here is the truth: God is not looking for perfect people. He is looking for surrendered people.
The One who calls you already knows your weaknesses. He also knows the grace, courage, wisdom, and strength He will provide along the way.
“The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24
You do not need to see the entire journey before taking the first step. Faith says yes while trusting God with the details.
Purpose Is Bigger Than a Platform
Purpose is often associated with public recognition, influence, or impressive achievements. However, purpose is also revealed through everyday obedience.
Purpose may look like raising your children with wisdom, serving faithfully in your church, building an ethical business, mentoring a young woman, encouraging someone who feels forgotten, forgiving when it is difficult, or beginning again after disappointment.
Never underestimate the influence of one obedient yes.
Esther fulfilled purpose in a palace. Ruth walked into purpose through loyalty. Deborah led with courage. Mary carried purpose through
surrender. Each woman’s assignment looked different, but they all responded to God.
Your purpose does not need to resemble anyone else’s. Comparison distracts you from the unique grace upon your own life. You were never called to become a copy when God created you as an original.
God Can Use Every Part of Your Story
The painful chapters of your life do not mean that purpose has passed you by. God can redeem what wounded you and use your testimony to bring hope and freedom to others.
The rejection did not cancel your calling.
The delay did not destroy your destiny.
The failure did not have the final word.
Your wilderness may have been the place where God developed your character, sharpened your discernment, and taught you to depend upon Him. What felt like a setback may have been preparation for the assignment ahead.
“And we know that
in all things God works for the good of those
who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Walk Out Your Purpose
Purpose unfolds through relationship, obedience, and faithfulness. You may not receive the complete plan at once, but God will give you enough light for your next step.
Ask Him:
• What have You placed in my hands?
• Who have You called me to serve?
• Which burden continually touches my heart?
• What step of obedience have I been postponing?
Do not despise small beginnings. A conversation, an idea, a prayer meeting, a business plan, or an act of service may become the seed of something much greater. Heaven measures success through obedience, not applause.
God calls you by name. He calls you out of fear, comparison, hiding, and limitation. He calls you to arise, trust Him, and walk boldly in the purpose He prepared for you.
Your gifts have a purpose.
Your voice has a purpose.
Your testimony has a purpose.
Your life has a purpose.
When God calls, your response does not need to be perfect. It only needs to be surrendered:
“Here I am, Lord. Use me.”
Short Prayer
Father, thank You for knowing me, choosing me, and creating me with purpose. Silence every voice of fear, comparison, and inadequacy. Help me recognise Your call and give me courage to obey, even when I cannot see the entire journey. Use my gifts, experiences, and testimony for Your glory. I surrender my plans to You and say yes to Your purpose for my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
With love
